Banapple Pies and Cheesecakes

I've been to Banapple at Ayala Triangle Gardens several times before and their food never fails to disappoint! It has always been our go-to place to eat since its just near CVG when I was still working there, and now MMC. They offer great tasting food in big servings which makes it definitely worth the price. Also, their cakes are to die for!

Super Caramel Fudge Cake
I'm not really fond of sweets so I wasn't expecting to be amazed by their desserts, but OMG when I tasted the super caramel fudge cake, it was pure foodgasm! It has that perfect feel inside your mouth when you eat it, you can taste the chocolate and caramel joining together.. I loved it!

If you look closely, you'll see the melted chocolate dripping from the fork when I scooped it. Its that good!

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake
For chocolate lovers out there!

Choconut Oreo Cheesecake
I don't like choconut so I'm not a big fan of this, but my friends say it tastes great.

Asian Sunshine Salad
This is my favorite dish of all. Its fresh and tasty, its actually much better than a kani salad. The sweetness of oranges, the feel of the crisp wonton skins and honey-sesame oil dressing coming together is brilliant! Definitely a must-try!

Banapple's House Salad
This has a lot of going on in it. Mixed greens with corn, cucumber and bell pepper bits, crumbled banana chips, honey peanuts, and mozarella.

Fettuccine Jacintha
Its a delightful take on the classic carbonara, made even richer with herbs.

Chicken Breast Parmigiano &  Migs Gallabergher
Their rice meals come in generous servings so if you feel like eating your heart out, it will surely leave you satisfied. My friend, Audrey loves the Chicken Breast Parmigiano and only orders this one when we eat here. Every single time.

(The burger far back in the picture)
I tried the Migs Gallabergher before and didn't like it. It tasted plain and the chips on the side I think is from Oishi Potato Chips (eeek), so I don't recommend getting this one!

Banapple's customer service is nice and the waitresses are attentive. The ambience gives you a homey feeling. I remember hanging out here after work with Gab and Mich. It was pouring rain outside so we stayed longer than usual, unaware of the time, talking, eating and listening to Beatles. It was a lovely experience. 5/5 stars for bannaple!

Wave 97 Anniversary Date

I met up with my wave mates at Banapple for breakfast, after their shift to celebrate our first year anniversary!
{L-R: Suzie, Mich, Me, Audrey, Elaine, Tish}

I remember joining Onstar 2 weeks after taking the board exams last year. I decided to enter zombieworld a.k.a call center  to kill time while waiting for the exam results. I'm so proud of myself because even if I hated the job, I lasted for 7 months in the business. I resigned when MMC called me for training. I think there were like 15 people in our wave when we started out and now more than half is gone. After a year, only 6 remained- Mitch and Midge in OSTA(technical department), Suzie and Elaine in BILLING, Tish in SALES and Mich now a mentor!  Audrey was the first one to resign and is now working at ayosdito.ph Anyway, its nice coz eventhough we don't work together anymore, we still manage to get in touch with each other. And honestly, even if its too much of a hassle to wake up so early for breakfast, I successfully managed to get up early because I know time spent with them are worth it. I never thought I'd making close friends in this job, knowing how stereotyped call center agents are, but I'm happy I've had the chance to meet them coz they are amazing.

Banapple has always been our go-to place to eat, even when I was still working at CVG because its just near  and the place gives all kinds of feel.

Be humble and Be patient

Much of life is spent waiting and it’s how we wait that makes all the difference. I know many people will agree with me, mahirap maghintay. Nakakapagod, nakakasawa. I for one, has been waiting for so long for many things to come to my life- the right man, the dream job, and a chance to travel are just some of those. At times I get exhausted, yes; but I know there's nothing I can do about it, because it's God's plan for my life that will always prevail.

I'm saying this because I want to share how amazing the Lord is and how He has given me the wisdom while waiting for one of the most important event in my life, getting my first real job. You see, I have been waiting for almost 2 months for MMC to hire me. I was told to wait for their call after passing all of my documents (original + photocopy) to their HR department, so ang kulang nalang talaga is their call, telling me "You're hired!!"

It's my dream to be able to practice my chosen profession, and being able to do that in a prestigious hospital makes the dream 101% awesome! I thought I'll be hired after a few weeks, but I believe God has other plans, because I'm still here waiting for the dream to happen. Its been 7 weeks at nakakalungkot na maghintay, I was starting to doubt myself and hate others (HR :p). BUT there He was again, God reminding me to hold on and be patient when I attended the worship night of Victory with Kez and Cha. One of the verses shared about asking something from God was:

"Be completely humble and gentle;
be patient, bearing with one another
in love."
- Ephesians 4:2 (NIV)

"Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O LORD, you know it altogether."
- Psalm 139:4 (NIV)

I was surprised. Sobrang yan yung kelangan ko, ang galing talaga ni Lord!! He truly knows my heart. That's how great He is... knowing what I need at the moment and giving me wisdom and enlightenment through His words. That's when I realized that I really just have to WAIT; and while at it, remain patient and humble, na di ako dapat maging demanding, kasi ako na nga yung naghihingi at may kelangan, ako pa mayabang at nagmmamadali. Hindi dapat ganun.

"For I know the plans I have for you,"
declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future."
- Jeremiah 29:11

And THIS. He already planned a great future for me. So, I don't have to worry! Some may ask, how can I believe in this so strongly, and the only answer I have is because I just do. I believe in an Almighty and Loving God. He is my rock, my father, my light. He has done so many miracles in my life and has given me everything I need. This job that I'm waiting for is my heart's desire, and if God believes I deserve it, He will give it to me at the right time.

Catching up with my bebs

I met up with Joyce, Jaea and Taters last Saturday! I was so happy to see them coz its been a LONG time since we've talked and caught up with each other's lives!

{L to R: Me, Joyce, Jaea, Tata }

 We've been classmates since first year college, and technically they're my "first" friends in college. We survived the shuffling of sections and remained classmates till fourth year college. I guess they're the ones who keep me grounded, since we've known each other for a long time! Joyce is now a peds nurse at MMC, Jaea's taking up Hospital Administration in UP, and Tata's still figuring out where she wants to work. Gosh, how fast time flies! Next thing we know, we'll be talking about weddings and babies! :)) Lol. I missed them A LOT!!
